Nikon has just announced the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G, a fast wide-angle 35 mm fixed focal length lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4. The new lens features Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for extremely quiet autofocusing, and incorporate the now standard Nano Crystal Coat on the professional range of optics from Nikon.

Introduced as part of the Leica S-System line up, the Summarit-S 35mm lens spots a maximum aperture of f/2.5. The elegant and minimalist design is unmistakably Leica.

AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G

An interesting and much welcome addition to the Nikkor DX range, effectively a normal lens for the Nikon DX sensor digital SLRs. A very usable f/1.8 maximum aperture too, ideal for the low light situations.
